And it has been done! Spore has become the best game of 2008.
Mobile Game Of The Year Spore: Origins is great on the iPhone, but the mobile game is the real star of the tide pool. Evolve your spore from a simple single cell survivor to a spiked, poison-spitting bully. Or a speedy scavenger. Or a bug-eyed shocker. Really, the choice is yours... Best Family Game If you're a parent, Spore is just a great game to play with your kids. Not only are all five sections of Spore varied and simple to understand, but they present science in a fun and wondrous manner. Read More: http://uk.bestof.ign.com/2008/pc/17.html
Best Artstic Design ..the beauty of Spore is that it doesn't focus on these pre-designed constructions and allows you, the player, to use your own imagination. ...
Don't worry if your having new login problems, sporepedia is going through another massive update. You might get a notice for a new patch after this time of construction. All language sporepedias are having the update so its likely that no one will be able to login. Its likely that you can log back in tomorrow (fryday 5th dec.) or in the weekend. In other news, creatures with the new parts seem to be extra populair, before the update you could see that the sporepedia was being flooded with cute or scary creatures. In my opinion the new "scary" parts aren't all that scary, their lookin bad-ass Well i guess thats about it for today.
Also because of the election, new obama and McCain space ships are posted in the Sporepedia (imagine Obama killing an entire grox fleet :O)
And in other news the second spore patch is available for both PC and Mac users.
And the countdown for the first spore expansion pack (Spore "Cute & Creepy Parts Pack") has begun since were now about 1 week away from the release of the pack. However EA is ripping us again (yep they got the guts to rip us off yet again ) by putting a price of 20$ on the expansion pack. More expansions are scheduled next year including one with a flora editor and the second expansion that includes an Adventure creator which will alow the user to create there own missions, this pack is going to be released somewhere in spring 2009. Yay halloween is here, but we don't celebrate here in my country Anyway i made this topic for the spore tutorials that have been posted, i figured it would come in handy to see how were doing right now: (this topic contains a few new ones)
The good news is this: EA are taking a big step back on Spore’s DRM. From three installs ever and one account per copy of the game, they’re switching to as many re-installs as you want on a maximum of five computers, with a patch for multiple accounts for one machine on the way. That’s a big change of heart. We hinted that there might have been a change from three to five installs last week. This weekend the LA Times reported that EA have “apologised” to customers for the digital restrictions, when issuing their reprise. They report EA Games’ President Frank Gibeau saying,
“We’ve received complaints from a lot of customers who we recognize and respect. We need to adapt our policy to accommodate our legitimate consumers.”
An impressively humble and reasonable statement. It’s a direct reference to the k...
By Jim Rossignol Link: Here I hadn’t tried activating Spore more than three times, but reader roBurky did. It happened like this:
roBurky: EA apparently changed the Spore DRM from 3 to 5 initial activations without telling anyone. Jim: did you discover this yourself? roBurky: Yeh. I installed on three computers, then contacted support to get more ready for when I’d need them roBurky: Was told I still had two left. I pointed out that their support page said we only got three, and they thanked me for pointing it out and said they’d update it. Jim: huh
About Spore DRM, you can install Spore many times you want, but just on 3 Computers simultaneously, EA have sent an email clarifying their reasons. Other interesting thing, is that each Serial-Key is limited to ONE account, you can't login on your friend's game, that is to prevent people with pirated games to use online features.
There has been a lot of discussion about the DRM in Spore, and the team at EA and Maxis wanted clarify how the system works, and why it’s in place.
Our system works just like online music services that limit the number of machines you can play a song on. This system is an effort to control piracy.
You can install the game on three computers – at your office, at home or for your family. What you can’t do is make and distribute a thousand copies online.
Also people are starting to take the Spore game the wrong way, some christian people have made an Anti Spore site http://antispore.com/. So for now i want to say this: Spore is just a game people, dont take it THAT serious .
And one of the few things that come in with the Galactic Edition is the 'How to build a better being' DVD, this film will be shown tuesday next week on National Geographic for those that didnt got the Galactic edition and that might be interested in seeing it
And thats about it for today, ill keep searching for more news about Spore.
